Mrs. Matono worked with me as an interpreter when we first arrived in Tokyo and helped me to learn some Japanese. Being totally lost when I arrived, she was able to teach me how to get around Tokyo in three days showing me every area of the city in a car that allowed me to see the city at my own pace. She also taught me about the train system so I could navigate it easily. Later my husband and I were taken to several major historical sites in this city and just outside of Tokyo. She arranged for train tickets, transportation in the next location and excellent knowledge of all of the places we visited. I was impressed with her knowledge of everything from a traditional Japanese tea ceremony to the religious symbols in the Temples to a traditional kimono ceremony that was fascinating. She has a great knowledge of Japanese history but do not bore you with detail. A visit to Mt Fuji was so much fun with a friend from Atlanta throughout that area. She also knows wonderful restaurants that are favorites of locals.I have recommended many people to tour with her and everyone has loved her.
